The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Order in exercise of the powers given to it by section 108(6) of the Local Government Act 2000[1]. Name and application 1. The name of this Order is the Local Government Act 2000 (Commencement) (No.2) (Wales) Order 2001 and it applies to Wales only. Provisions coming into force on 9th April 2001 2. The following provisions of the Local Government Act 2000 shall come into force on 9th April 2001 -
(This note does not form part of the Regulations) This Order brings into force on 9th April 2001, in relation to Wales only, those provisions of Part I of the Local Government Act 2000 which are not yet in force and consequential repeals of various statutory provisions. Part I of the Act is concerned with the promotion by local authorities of the economic, social and environmental well-being of their areas. (This note does not form part of the Order) The following provisions of the Local Government Act 2000 have been brought into force by a commencement order made before the date of this Order.
